Your voice fills the halls
As you cry,
Let out your roar
Little lion.
They take it lightly
Because they do not know
What lies inside you,
Little lion.
They do not know the ferocious power
Of your little arms
Or the awesome speed
In your little legs
Or the might of your tiny heart.
These things are small now
So they don’t see,
The tenacity in your eyes
The strength in your hands.
So they hear you cry,
Little lion,
And they roll their eyes
And sigh
But one day
They will roll beneath the strength of your paw
They will shudder, and not sigh, at the sound of your roar.
